Full Moon Effect

Working group Pictures

Full Moon Effect is a contemporary dance piece that sets out to discover the hidden power of an alter ego. It’s the sort of power that might reveal itself unconsciously. Finding it might be liberating or imprisoning. The time of the full moon is now.

A full moon is believed to be a potent source of healing and rejuvenating energy. It intensifies every experience and brings new things into our consciousness. It lights up new paths while leaving others in the shadow. A full moon heightens the senses, releases feminine power and brings us back together.

Early bird tickets for 15 € are being sold during Tanssivirtaa Tampereella contemporary dance festival at the Hällä Stage from 25th to 31st of May.

Joel Alalantela is a dance artist and choreographer. Since earning his dance degree at Tampere Conservatoire in 2012, Joel has racked up an impressive résumé ranging from contemporary dance pieces to musicals. Currently employed by MD as a dancer-choreographer, Joel is also the founder and choreographer of the Alalantela Company.

Full Moon Effect is Joel’s debut choreography for MD. It is the culmination of a series of demo pieces which have dealt with the idea of limbo, exploring the concept as a headspace, a timeless state, communality in performing arts and an ingredient of resilience.
