Join us for this three-Saturday course, where you’ll get to explore contemporary dance in greater depth. The course covers the basics of contemporary dance, explores your own body’s movement, offers a chance to have fun together as a group, and includes attending performances.
During the course, participants will dance under the instructor’s guidance and carry out various exercises both individually and in group. Each workshop will include time for discussion and sharing ideas. The course also offers the chance to try out choreography from the production Celebration. In addition, a meet-the-makers session with the Celebration working group will be held during the final workshop.
The course is aimed for adults and requires no previous dance experience. All you need to do is come as you are and be interested in dancing and discussing as part of a group. The course is led by Emma Heinonen, an audience outreach specialist and dance artist-teacher at Dance Theatre MD. The Experience Contemporary Dance -course is part of Dance Theatre MD audience inclusion.
