Here I am

Old, classic songs about love form the framework for Here I am, a performance where emotions are danced, movements are created, and a shared experience is lived together.

The Here I am project has been in development since 2024. The work was created in collaboration with five-year-old children, who explored the dance piece and participated in workshops together with MD’s artists. Based on the children’s thoughts and feedback, the work was further developed and refined.

The final piece is inspired by these shared experiences. It includes dance, music, and movement, experienced both through watching and through active participation.

The aim of the performance is to inspire children to engage with dance and creative artistic expression, and to offer them an experiential, multidisciplinary journey into the world of contemporary dance.

The performance was developed together with audiences during the Here I am – on the way to a show morning sessions in 2024–2025.

Here I am is part of Taidekaari cultural education program for 5-year-olds in 2025-26.
