Dance Theatre MD wants to make visiting a dance theatre with a child as easy as possible.
Here we answer a few frequently asked questions (FAQ).
1. Where can I leave the strollers?
Strollers can be brought inside into the Hällä Stage and can be stored under the coat racks. Our ticket sellers are happy to assist in carrying strollers up the stairs. Strollers can also be stored at your own risk in the portico of the Hällä Stage next to the wall.
2. Toilet facilities
You can find a potty in the disabled toilet of the Hällä Stage. Unfortunately, we do not have a changing table in our space.
3. Eating snacks at the theater
We sell refreshments in the lobby of Hällä Stage before the performance. You can also enjoy a small snacks of your own.
There are recycling points in the lobby for mixed, bio, cardboard and plastic waste. We kindly ask our audiences to recycle their waste whenever possible.
4. Moving to the theatre space
Usually, the ticket seller opens the door to the performance space: to the small or large theatre space. Access to both facilities is from the same lobby.
When moving to the main stage, seat cushions are also available for small children.
Our admission tickets are usually unnumbered, so you can choose the seat yourself.
5. During the performance
In performances aimed for families, children are allowed to be children, also in the performance situation. It’s okay for example to react and laugh.
However, let’s try to take other audience members into account during the performance.
We encourage people to rather talk about the experience after the performance.
During the performance, the child is always the responsibility of their guardian. If the performance has parts where audience members can participate, we will express it separately.
6. Leaving the performance in the middle
If for one reason or another it is difficult to concentrate on the performance and you want to leave, get up and leave the room with as little noise as possible. Our technical staff will try to increase the light to secure your exit, if it is possible at the time.
In the lobby, you can discuss visiting a new performance with the ticket seller. We want to support the participation of families in the performances and offer the opportunity to come to the second act of the performance free of charge. The ticket can also be exchanged for another performance.
