Dance Theatre MD has been awarded an Eco-Compass certificate for the period 2026-28
Dance Theatre MD’s operations are guided by sustainability. Our goal is to operate as sustainably as possible ecologically, economically, socially and culturally.
MD’s environmental actions include one programme brochure per year instead of two and the abolition of paper handbooks. Information about the works can be found in PDF format on our website and via a QR code on the Hällä stage.
Recycling bins for bio, mixed, cardboard and plastic waste can be found in the audience areas of the Hällä stage, and sorting continues in more detail in the staff areas.
We prefer public transport for our work trips. When transporting sets, Dance Theatre MD’s van is refueled with biodiesel.
Whenever possible, we choose partners who are located nearby, whose operations are responsible and who have an environmental program.

- Environmental friendliness and sustainable development guide the operations of Dance Theatre MD.
- We use the Theatre Green Book as a guideline in planning and implementing operations. MD will have its own Green Book completed in 2026, which we will embed into the dance theatre’s processes.
